A medium-sized, moderate to fast-growing, deciduous tree with a rounded to broad spreading crown that branches close to the ground. They have 7 to 11 pointed lobes that are sharply pointed at the tips. The fall foliage is reddish-brown. The bark is smooth on young trees but as it ages, wide, flat-topped ridges and shallow furrows develop. The shallow furrows form a pattern resembling ski tracts. First bears fruits at 20-25 years but doesn’t produce acorns in abundance until 40-50 years.

The plant holds great wildlife value as a larval host plant and the bean pod fruits provide food for songbirds.

Forest Pansy is a purple-leaved cultivar that has attractive red-orange fall color. The cultivar name arises from its attractive pansy-like flowers. Grows best in average soil in full sun or part shade though it can withstand heavy clay soils. This small tree is resistant to browsing by deer and can be planted near black walnut trees.

Exceptional native redbud displays a riot of color in early spring as brilliant lavender-purple blooms appear on bare branches. Spring foliage emerges red, maturing to gold; shaded leaves will be green. Large, heart shaped leaves are burn-resistant even in full summer sun.

A small, deciduous tree with serrated leaves; they are often bronze-toned when newly emerged, becoming dark green by summer. The flowers emerge before the leaves in early spring; they are fragrant, 1 - 1.5" in diameter, with five white or pale pink petals. The flowers grow in clusters of five or six together. Introduced to Europe and North America in 1902. The National Cherry Blossom Festival is a spring celebration in Washington, D.C., commemorating the 1912 gift of Japanese cherry trees from Tokyo to the city of Washington.

When. Planting is done in December, which is perfect weather for planting trees.
Access. These are large trees with heavy rootballs. The planting area must be relatively level and reachable by a small machine to carry the tree and auger the hole.
Clearance. Any gates or passages must have 48″ wide openings.
Area. Fees are based on our local delivery area. Out-of-area planting jobs may incur additional charges.
Pick-up. If you are picking up your trees yourself, we will call you when they arrive here.
