Over the years we’ve found the use of landscape fabric to be detrimental to the health of our soils. Soil needs to have a good air and water exchange as well as continuous access to organic matter such as dead leaves and other natural debris. Landscape fabric creates an unnatural barrier, especially when crusted over with compacted layers of mulch.
