If you can hand sew even basic straight stitches, here’s a wonderful holiday tradition to start this year!
Purchase a solid colored cotton tablecloth for your Christmas dinner table. Place a pencil at everyone’s place setting and ask that each person write a message or draw a picture on the cloth at some point during the meal. When the holidays are over, take some time during those cold winter months to stitch over the words or pictures. Bring the cloth out every Christmas and have your family or friends add to the story.
As the years pass by, you will have created a one of a kind heirloom that will spark memories, laughter and maybe some tears but, it will become a cherished piece of your family history.
