Get Your Landscape Design Off The Ground
Hey Everybody, Welcome to this edition of Ask The Professional. I’m Robert Smiddy with Willow Ridge Garden Center and Landscaping. I’m your landscape designer. I’m going to talk to you about the 5 steps you can take to get your landscape design off the ground or into the ground.
Step 1: Phone Consultation
We are going to have a conversation about what your project is all about. I’m a huge believer in transparency and honesty so we’ll have a very open conversation about your project. We gather all the details, budget, square footage area, design ideas and so forth.
Step 2: Send Pictures
In the next step, you are going to send some pictures of the area you have in mind. You can do this through our website. This gets us on the same page so you can see what I’m seeing. We can talk through the photographs and discuss the various ideas going forward. At that point, we can also decide if we need an onsite consultation, which can also be scheduled. The key outcome of this step is to establish a cost estimate and make sure we are in the ballpark, so there are no surprises. We agree to a budget that you are comfortable with and then establish the scope of work to be done.
Step 3: Contract for Installation towards scope of work / Presentation
In this step, we establish a scope and decide if we need to do additional designs. In addition, we meet face to face to go over the design or discuss any design you have in mind. We go through the process step by step and review the project end to end. We also review sample work that has been done in the past so you get an idea of the possibilities that are available for your backyard. After we have a discussion, agree to the scope of work, review the contract, we take a deposit and get you scheduled for the installation.
Step 4: Installation Phase
Prior to the installation, we make sure any permits that need to be pulled are done so. In addition, we order all the materials and line up the resources and labor required to complete the work according to the scope of agreement.
Step 5: Final Walkthrough
During this final step, we walk through the project area together and make sure all your expectations have been met. We make sure you are completely satisfied!
